IKO North American leads the roof shingle and roofing products industry with a reputation built over the past 75 years. With a strong sustainability push driven by its Beyond™ sustainability program, the company turned to Artisun Solar to build a solar project on its Blair Rubber manufacturing facility in Seville, Ohio.
The 503.1 kW (DC) system was the first commercial solar installation within the city limits of Seville. Over the system’s 40-year lifespan, the array will deliver more than $2.7 million in avoided energy costs and offset more than 10,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions.
Artisun Solar installed the project on a newly constructed roofing system made with IKO Innovi™ TPO, IKOTherm Polyiso, and IKOTherm Covershield. Because the system was installed on a TPO roof, slipsheets made of the same material were utilized. Learn more about slip sheets here.
