Cooperative Farmers Elevator

Cooperative Farmers Elevator in Ocheyedan, Iowa, supports large-scale grain operations where electricity demand is both seasonal and substantial.

To address this, the cooperative partnered with Artisun Solar to install a 3,166-panel ground-mounted system totaling 1,300 kW DC. The system offsets 100% of annual electricity usage across operations.

The project generated $220,308 in first-year savings and is projected to deliver $9.6 million in lifetime savings. With federal and USDA incentives, payback was achieved in 1.5 years.
