Champion Precast

Champion Precast, a leading precast concrete supplier in the Midwest, made a strategic investment in solar energy by installing a custom 209.78 kW (DC) rooftop system at their facility in Troy, MO. Working with Artisun Solar, they took advantage of the Federal ITC, utility rebates, and state and federal depreciation to maximize savings. The installation was completed without disrupting daily operations, allowing business to continue seamlessly.

In its first year, the system saved over $30,000, 36% more than originally projected. Over its lifetime, the solar array is expected to deliver nearly $1 million in savings. What was initially forecasted as a five-year cost recovery period was accelerated to just under two years, demonstrating the substantial financial impact of this project.

Jon Ohmes, CEO

Champion Precast

Immediately the first year, we saved over $30,000 in electricity. Energy rates continue to escalate, and we’re trying to stay ahead of the curve. We want to reduce any cost to the company which helps us be more competitive in the market. We originally were figuring about a five-year ROI on the system, but it ended up being closer to a two-year ROI. Artisun Solar did everything they said they were going to do.
