DSM Ag in Northeast Iowa took advantage of the federal and state tax incentives for going solar. Because of the high cost of power and the available incentives, they will see an ROI of under 1-year. The two systems will have a combined net cost of ~$10,000, and they’ll recognize $25,000 in energy savings in the first year. These programs can help support Ag & Commercial businesses throughout the state. With renewed funding to federal and state programs, these economics will be achievable for the foreseeable future.
