Seyer Industries is an internationally known supplier of complex aerospace and maritime products. Based in St. Peters, Missouri, Boeing, Lockheed and Martin, Northrop Grumman and other large, influential companies rely on Seyer’s expertise and sophisticated manufacturing methods. But before Seyer became a world class, state of the art machining and manufacturing supplier, it got its start with the invention of the easy egg cracker in 1957; a humble kitchen tool built with two stainless steel cups.
This is a company that knows how to grow and develop its business, and its recent transition to solar represents an exciting and valuable investment for Seyer. In September, Seyer Industries worked with Artisun Solar to launch the first of six new solar PV arrays it plans to incorporate into its facilities over the next few years. Designed and constructed by Artisun, the solar arrays are projected to deliver over $6 million in lifetime savings for the company, with more than $115,000 estimated to be saved within the first year. The project is expected to offset 44,000 metric tons of CO2; the equivalent nearly 110,000,000 miles being taken off the road by an average car.
“Artisun has been a good company to work with and is very knowledgeable on the product,” said company CEO Chris Seyer, who described the project as a long-term strategic move.
