Howie’s Recycling & Trash Services has served the Manhattan-Wamego-Junction City area for over 35 years. Howie’s specializes in recycling household and ferrous and non-ferrous metal materials. Howie’s is focused on continuing to make the community around them better and recently teamed up with Artisun Solar to add two rooftop solar arrays to their facilities. Even though Howie’s didn’t have any additional local or state incentives available, they’re still seeing an 18% return on their investment utilizing the Investment Tax Credit and 168k Deprecation. Power costs continue to rise; the latest consumer price index showed power costs were up over 15% nationwide. Solar will help businesses like Howie’s own almost all of their energy generation needs and act as a hedge against rising power costs.
